Jaber is considered a diverse and elastic musician. His Oud performance mirrors the range of his artistic influences and varying musical styles, such as Arabic music, Azerbaijani music and the vast and various principle of Ottoman traditional music. In October 2015, Jaber was forced to leave Syria due to the threatening circumstances there, leaving all of his memories and belongings behind.

Hopeless Nostalgia is a musical project that consists of six crossover compositions by Jaber Fayad. These pieces were composed in Syria and the Netherlands in an attempt to capture the feeling of loss and unbelonging.
